It is about 10 km to the centre of Meschede. The centre of Meschede can be easily reached on foot in about 30 minutes via the park-like Henne-Boulevard. The nearby town of Arnsberg is ideal for day trips.

The camping park is also an ideal starting point to discover the beautiful surroundings with mountains, meadows, forests, lakes and many pretty half-timbered villages on your own or on guided hikes and bike tours. The idyllic Ruhr river valley, adventure trails through nature or the Plästerlegge, the highest natural waterfall in the Sauerland, are other worthwhile destinations.

In the cold season, in addition to winter hikes and cross-country skiing directly at Lake Hennesee, you can also go skiing in the ski areas of Winterberg, Willingen, Bödefeld or Schmallenberg, 15-25 km away. Here, tobogganists and snowboarders also get their money's worth.

In the middle of the Hochsauerland, to the east of the Hennesee, lies the KNAUS Camping Park. All guests can use the swimming site with its sandy beach free.
